A graduate of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, Samuel Thompson is a nationally recognized soloist,
chamber musician, orchestral musician and interdisciplinary collaborator.
Currently a Teaching Artist for the DC Youth Orchestra Program, the Bridges Music Program of Baltimore
and the Charm City Consortium, Mr. Thompson has taught in many capacities ranging from group lessons,
private instruction, orchestral coaching and chamber music coaching to students ranging from beginners to
advanced high school students, university and conservatory undergraduates and adult amateurs.
In May 2017, Mr. Thompson traveled to Havana, Cuba, where he gave master classes in conjunction with
ISA-Universidad de las Artes and the Lyceum Mozartiana de la Habana.
He has also served as an adjudicator for regional Solo and Ensemble festivals
and prepared both junior and senior high school orchestras for annual assessments.
